Conversation Between Brothers
“So, I have to make an appointment to talk with you now?”
“No. Why?”
“You never pick up your phone.”
“I’m just busy.”
“I’m sure you are.”
“You know you can call me anytime.”
“Sure.”
“What’s up?” “She did it again.”
“Same dude?”
“I think so.”
“You leavin’ this time?” “No. I don’t want to lose my babies.”
“You wouldn’t lose them. She’s shit. She doesn’t want them. If she got custody she would be begging you to take them in two days. Besides, you know Maddie’s not yours.”
“Don’t.”
“Don’t what? You told me you found the texts where she admits it.”
“Stop.”
“Just go take a paternity test, to be sure.”
“Either way, that’s my daughter. Besides, you know we don't get divorced in this family."
"It's not worth being miserable. What are you afraid of? Being alone?"
“Looking like a fool.”
“You wouldn’t.”
"We'll see."
